HR and CHRO in the New Normal

CHRO conversations with undconsorten

HR and the CHRO were at the center of attention last year. In this context, HR was an important member of the crisis teams and correspondingly close to the business, the employees and the public. The different experiences of HR managers in the Corona pandemic and the resulting reflections on the changed role of the HR function were the focus of a virtual series of discussions that we organized – in cooperation with the German Association of HR Managers (BPM) – between September 2020 and January 2021 with a total of 14 CHROs and around 700 participants from the DACH region.

The central questions were in particular:

How has the role of the CHRO and HR changed in recent months during the Corona crisis?
Which (HR) trends will become more important in the New or Accelerated Normal?

What are the biggest HR challenges in the coming months and years?
How are expectations of HR changing in the New Normal? How must HR change in turn to meet these expectations?

Whitepaper

HR und CHRO: Through the crisis to a Better Normal

We have summarized the findings from this series of discussions and from initial projects in a whitepaper. The whitepaper describes the new role of HR and CHRO and provides an overview of what is now becoming important – from shaping the working world of the future, to leadership development and cultural evolution, to workforce transformation. The HR function itself is not spared from these changes and, in our view, will transform itself yet again, but with a different focus than before.
