Sharp and blurred layers of memory

An evening with Sławomir Elsner about seeing, remembering and interpreting images.

Berlin-based artist Sławomir Elsner works with coloured pencil, watercolour and sculpture - he creates spaces of memory in which lines run and meanings blur. He is not interested in answers, but in a change of perspective: what remains of an image that we remember - or think we recognise?

On 11 September 2025 (7-10 p.m.), Elsner will present selected works in our rooms at Kurfürstendamm 194. The exhibition breaks up traditional series of works - it sees itself as an open search for traces in the existing art landscape.

Find out more about Elsner's attitude to artistic freedom and memory work in the detailed interview with the artist.
